The finale is set to be the centerpiece for the Sundance Channel’s
televised special titled National Anthem: Inside the “Vote for Change”
Concert Tour. This documentary film will include behind-the-scenes
footage from the tour and live performances from the Washington,
D.C. event. National Anthem’s acclaimed filmmakers Albert Maysles
and D.A. Pennebaker collaborated for the first time in forty years
to bring this project to life with production and direction by Joel
Gallen. National Anthem will air on Monday, October 11th during
the Vote for Change performances from 6:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. ET/PT.
“From the Kennedys to Dylan, the Beatles, and Stones, Al Maysles
and D A Pennebaker are the pre-eminent observers of politics and
music in our time,” commented Robert Redford, Sundance Channel founder,
“Sundance is pleased to present these legendary filmmakers’ view
of the collision between pop culture and politics at this fascinating
moment in U.S. history.”

MoveOn PAC House Parties Across the Country
MoveOn PAC is working with its grassroots team to literally bring
“Vote for Change” home. While the artists take to the stage in Washington,
D.C. on the 11th, fans and members of MoveOn PAC all over the country
will be holding watch parties. These parties offer a unique opportunity
for organizers, supporters and voters in local communities who are
passionate about the music and the issues to gather and be a part
of this historic event. These house parties will be used to recruit
and mobilize volunteers to increase turnout on November 2nd. They
are tied to MoveOn PAC’s “Leave No Voter Behind” program, which
is designed to maximize GOTV activities in battleground states.

Vote for Change Background
The Vote for Change tour came out of an informal conversation among
a handful of artists on how they could make a difference in this
year’s elections and beyond. This idea has resulted in a first-of-its-kind
endeavor where Vote for Change participating artists will focus
their energies on the states where the elections are expected to
be the closest.
To address this need for change, Vote for Change artists assembled
a list of reasons why a change of administrations is essential to
our nation. These are being handed out to an estimated 280,000 people
at the 37 tour stops. The reasons include:
- One million jobs lost
and counting, the worst record since the Great Depression.
- 1,000 soldiers dead
and 7,000 maimed and wounded in Iraq – no weapons of mass destruction,
no link between Saddam and 9/11, no plan for getting out.
- Biggest budget deficits
in history – if you’re young, you’ll pay for decades.
- $200 billion for Iraq
with no end in sight; less money for our local schools, health
care and jobs.
The loose coalition of Vote
for Change artists includes Ben Harper and the Innocent Criminals,
Bonnie Raitt, Bright Eyes, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band,
Dave Matthews Band, Death Cab for Cutie, Dixie Chicks, Jackson Brown,
James Taylor, Jurassic 5, Keb’ Mo’, Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds, My Morning
Jacket, Pearl Jam and R.E.M. These artists are touring simultaneously
in 11 battleground states over the course of 15 days in an effort
to get people to vote for change on November 2.
All Vote for Change shows
are presented by MoveOn PAC to benefit America Coming Together (ACT).
All Vote for Change artists are donating their time and talent in
support of the tour. For more information on Vote for Change, visit
